Family Finding

GPV supports this research project, conducted by Berry Street, to train child protection workers to use a range of strategies to identify members of a child’s extended family before any decisions about the child’s future are made. The experiences of child protection systems overseas prove how easy it can be to trace an extended family and how valuable the results of doing so are, with many children kept within their family rather than removed from it.
